Goodbye

Went to Knoxville with my brother earlier today. Walked downtown, went into an old general store that sells everything imaginable. Ate lunch at an outdoor cafe. What a nice downtown area. Kind of reminds me of Boise, Idaho. (dang I miss Boise!)   Leaving Knoxville on a different route from where we came in, we came across a fenced in area under the bridge and oh my gosh, the homeless people. More than I have ever seen in one place.   My sister told me there is a big drug problem in this area, and I am sure that contributes to the homelessness.  Luckily she lives about 15 miles outside of Knoxville, out in the country.

It's really pretty here and hopefully I will get back one day.  It was hot the whole time I was here, hot and humid. This afternoon a cold front started coming in and by morning it will be 44*  !!!    I did bring a jacket so I will be fine going out and 44 is not THAT cold, but quite a drop from the last few days.  My daughter messaged me and told me it will be fine to get on the base tomorrow, so I will overnight with them and then head home Saturday.  Ugh, I am done with driving for awhile.  Have to work Sunday so can't stay longer, or I would.

Said my goodbyes to my little sister and my niece.  I gave her a simple bracelet I found in Knoxville with the word "Strength" on it.   She is one strong lady.  I'm still hoping she will beat this cancer and if anyone can it is her.  But I also am prepared.  What will be, will be.

I guess my song choice the other night was not the best. I can't know what is going on with anyone if anyone does not share with me, so I apologize   I came across this one earlier today. Some young man from Italy I believe.   It has meaning to me.

"No matter where you are, you're there, no matter where I,look, I'll always find you there, Deep in the shadows of my mind"

" But if you look into your shadows, what will you find?"

Somehow I know it is not me, and that's okay 💖

We can talk, but I know
That there is more than meets the eye
We can follow and bleed on
I wanted more than I could give to you
Now there is something I can’t hide
You’ve been on my mind
You’ve been there all the time
So now fade away
We can stand and hold on
‘Till you forgive who’s loved you most
‘Till we forget
How to be loved
And like a blind man who dreams of skies
I crave that morning light
You’ve been on my mind
You’ve been there all the time
So now fade away
No matter where you are, you’re there
No matter where I look, I’ll always find you there
Deep in the shadows of my mind
But if you look into your shadows, what will you find?
If you look into your shadows, what will you find?
If you look into your shadows, what will you find?
If you look into your shadows, what will you find?
If you look into your shadows?

last day in Tennessee

I've enjoyed my visit, but I guess all good things must come to an end. Everything for that matter.  So move on to the next day and see what life has in store. (there is a message there)

It rained all night and I slept like a baby. It is still raining but will clear up shortly.  Not sure of the plan for this morning. We've seen what we can see here for the most part but I think my brother wants to go somewhere over in Knoxville this morning before we go to visit my sister again.

My heart goes out to the people who have been affected by Hurricane Michael.  Special place for the airmen and families from Tyndall Air Force base.  They are sheltering up at Warner Robins where my son in law is stationed so they will take good care of them I'm sure.  Hard to say what they will come back to but I hear it is pretty bad.

The storm hit Warner Robins last night but it was a tropical storm by then and I think they fared pretty well other than the usual downed limbs and debris on the roads.  I was worried because of all the dead pine trees in the are of the base where my kids live, but I talked to my daughter and they are fine.  Still waiting to find out if they will allow visitors on base tomorrow. If not, then I will take a different route home so as to avoid Atlanta because I hate Atlanta traffic and there is no good way around it if heading down that way.

I hope everyone has a beautiful day and know you are loved by me. Always.
